Am Samstag besuchten uns die Hamburger Fotographin Nadine Tiemann mit ihrer Freundin Linn Butzke. Nadine will in Hamburg und Berlin eine Fotoausstellung realisieren. @nadine.tiemann hatte eine mega Idee, „(Un)seen Perspectives“ ist ein soziales Fotografieprojekt, das die Perspektiven der Kinder und Jugendlichen im Kinderheim IKHAYA LEKAMVA in Langa zeigen und ihnen gleichzeitig neue Perspektiven durch die Fotografie eröffnen soll.
Mit Einwegkameras dokumentieren sie ihren Alltag und ihre Träume. Ergänzend werden sie mit ihrer Kamera porträtiert, um die Verbindung zwischen ihrer Sicht auf die Welt und ihrer Identität sichtbar zu machen. Die Bilder werden in einer Ausstellung in Hamburg (& Berlin) präsentiert, um Bewusstsein für Bildungschancen und Lebensrealitäten in Langa zu schaffen. Der Erlös aus dem Ticketverkäufen für die Ausstellung und freiwillige Spenden vor Ort, fließen direkt in das Kinderheim.

On Saturday we were visited by the Hamburg photographer Nadine Tiemann and her friend Linn Butzke. Nadine wants to realise a photo exhibition in Hamburg and Berlin. @nadine.tiemann had a mega idea, ‘(Un)seen Perspectives’ is a social photography project that aims to show the perspectives of the children and young people in the IKHAYA LEKAMVA children’s home in Langa and at the same time open up new perspectives for them through photography.
They use disposable cameras to document their everyday lives and dreams. In addition, they are portrayed with their cameras in order to visualise the connection between their view of the world and their identity. The pictures will be presented in an exhibition in Hamburg (& Berlin) to raise awareness of educational opportunities and the realities of life in Langa. The proceeds from the ticket sales for the exhibition and voluntary donations on site will go directly to the children’s home.
